Stretch Limousines. They are impressive vehicles and can help you make a dramatic entrance to a party or make for an interesting night on the town. but have you ever thought about how these behemoths are made. Its not an easy task.
The first step in making a stretch limousine is to gut a brand new vehicle. They remove everything from the vehicles interior in preparation for cutting it in half. Once everything is removed they cut the vehicle in half in order to stretch it to its new size. To support this new size they must lengthen the frame. This is the most important step of the process as it must have a good foundation in order to make it safe. Once they have fabricated the new frame the builders begin the task of custom manufacturing new body panels. There is nothing available off the shelf so all parts must be custom made to match the original look of the vehicle. They use steel, plastic and fiberglass to make the vehicle look like it came straight from the factory.
After they have the basic vehicle made, they must then add all of the creature comforts that we have come to expect. Stereo systems, plasma televisions, wet bars and a cabin full of custom upholstery must all be fitted. The end result is more of a work of art than a vehicle. It is now ready to be road tested and then shipped out to the limo service where you and I will eventually rent it.
