Decision: the Deciding Factor

For most important decisions in our life, if we dig deep enough, we know what to do. We may come up with a hundred reasons why this way or that way will be best, but if we are brutally honest with ourselves, we’ll usually uncover the correct decision for us. Fear is often the underlying culprit that is stalling us when an important decision is required. Getting past the fear is often as simple as making the decision we know we need to make.

According to a well-known self-help guru, Bob Proctor, the most successful people in society are people who make decisions easily and then rarely change their minds once the decision has been made. Unsuccessful people make decisions slowly and then change their minds frequently after making a decision. Bob also has said that simply deciding what you are going to do and then sticking to it makes all the difference in whether you will eventually succeed or not.

When faced with an important decision, courageously make the decision you feel best about instead of sitting on the fence and tip the scales in your favor. By taking a chance and decisively directing your life, you become an active participant instead of a passive bystander. Taking a chance when you make a decision is also taking a risk – and the greatest rewards go to those willing to take risks. So take a risk - simply making a decision could be all that stands between you and a great new life.
