If you like to whisper sweet nothings to your dog or give your dog a hug in public, you're not alone. A recent survey found that most dog parents like to do the same. They've even created a name for it: "Public Displays of Doggie Affection," also known as PDDA.

Other findings in the survey, sponsored by Kibbles 'n Bits Brushing Bites™, showed that only one in five doggie parents choose not to publicly display affection for their dog, while more than three-fourths of dog parents from coast to coast admit to a wide variety of PDDA-from hugging (58 percent) and whispering sweet nothings such as "good doggie" (41 percent) to letting their dog kiss them (26 percent) and even carrying their dog around with them (15 percent).

Nearly 10 percent say keeping their dog's breath fresh is how they score the best pooch smooch. There are products, such as new Kibbles 'n Bits Brushing Bites dog food, that let pet parents delight in their dog's clean teeth and fresh breath. What's the trick for the best pooch smooch? According to the survey, the most popular method for pet owners to receive their pooch smooch is to tilt the chin up and get a great smooch right on the cheek…and don't forget to close your mouth!

Do you ever say to anyone, "My dog is better than your dog?" Then you have company. Nearly one in 10 say their dog is the best kisser on the block, inspiring the search for America's Most Smoochable Pooch™ contest to settle the debate.
